the learner does the same work as the professional but under the guidance of the professional. A school internship for a student in engineering is an example.

My Idea of Cognitive Apprenticeship

As an Instructional Technologies Educator, I am responsible for building new ways of working with teachers to develop multi-lateral teaching material. I become the Master Instructor, and my teachers are my apprentices.

I believe teachers can provide the best assets (with regards to content) by integrating technology with their lessons.

My teachers are also subject mater experts in their grade level together we create integrated activities that help my teachers extend technology skills into the classroom. I am including activities in my lesson plans that will assist my teachers' instructions.

For this I use models that show teachers and students what the completed project should look like, and rubrics that assess student performance.

Together with my teachers and students, we form a Learning Community
